Based on its topography, Vallappuzha Panchayat, which falls under the midland region, can be broadly classified into four types: hilly areas, plains, slopes, and low-lying paddy fields. Kaniyarakkunnu, Ramagirimala, and Pulmukhammala are the major hilly areas. Gravelly soil, laterite soil, and blocks of laterite stones are found in the elevated regions, while sandy loam soil is found in the low-lying paddy fields. Wells and ponds are the primary water sources in this panchayat. There are numerous ponds located here. Since ancient times, Vallappuzha has been an agricultural region. According to the 2016 general analysis, the panchayat, which spans an area of 21.64 square kilometers, is divided into 16 wards. The population consists of 73% Muslims and 27% Hindus. The overall literacy rate of the total population is 97%. The hills and mountains of Kaniyarakkunnu, Ramagirimala, and Pulmukhammala are located within this panchayat.
